Resumo:
One topic in the subject of biology that makes students very difficult is developmental biology, also known as embryology. The difficulties generated are due to difficult nomenclature, abstract concepts, lack of connection with the real world, macro and microscopic contents, difficulty in three-dimensional visualization, difficulty in understanding temporal changes in development, precariousness of laboratories and lack of teaching resources, etc. However, a didactic strategy that would reduce these problems is the construction of three-dimensional models of stages of human and animal development. The objective of this work is to propose a pedagogical workshop for 2nd year high school students using an active teaching methodology that aims to build three-dimensional models of different phases of developmental biology. The pedagogical workshop will be divided into three stages: (1) awareness; (2) explanation and making of the models; and (3) final and integrative step. This activity has several positive points, such as the fact that it is carried out extra-class in 4 hours, so it does not compromise the schedule of classes in the teaching plan for the school year. In addition, it aims to deepen the embryology content seen in the lecture class, but with an effective active method that is different from the traditional one. It is expected that the proposal of this pedagogical workshop will be motivating for its implementation in the school environment.
