Resumo:
Environmental issues are among the main concerns of modern society and the search for sustainable development represents one of the biggest challenges today. From this perspective, one of the initiatives that has gained ground is environmental education and food education, an instrument in which school institutions implement, so that awareness is effectively incorporated into the attitudes and behavior of individuals. The vertical school garden is a good tool to work on the concepts of environmental and food education, together with the development of pedagogical workshops. In this sense, this work aims to develop a pedagogical workshop using the vertical school garden from recycled and reused materials as a didactic tool for teaching environmental and food education in elementary school II, as well as contributing to the learning process about the themes of environmental and food education and working on the development of healthy and sustainable eating habits. In this way, the school becomes the starting point for discussions on issues related to health and the environment. In this context, the implementation of school gardens should be actions incorporated into the school environment so that they contribute to the formation of critical individuals, aware and concerned about environmental issues and healthy eating habits.
