Resumo:
This study deals with the production of a didactic guide for elementary school teachers to use in the classroom to improve the teaching of botany. It is a work that proposes the use of exsiccates reduced to the size of an A4 sheet of paper, thus facilitating their transport and storage by teachers. To build this material, a step-by-step guide was prepared for the teacher to set up his own collection for teaching purposes. For the present study, some characteristics were chosen at the time of selection of the samples to be collected in order to differentiate the three major groups of vascular plants as they are addressed in elementary school. Exsiccates can also be used to address other content. It is expected that with this work, the use of the proposed guide can help the teacher to make his classes more dynamic and exciting for students. It is assumed that by learning botany from real examples of plants that are part of students daily life, the classes would be more enjoyable, and the teacher could arouse students curiosity, thus reducing the spread of plant blindness.
