Resumo:
Most students, in addition to asking themselves about the importance of learning Science, also have difficulty understanding biological concepts and processes, considered complex and abstract. The use of games in education, therefore, can be used as a means to provide greater socialization of previous knowledge and for the construction of new and more elaborate knowledge, in addition to making the environment motivating for students, which is necessary for maximizing learning. potential, keeping them focused on the activity being performed for a longer time. Therefore, with the intention of proposing a new methodology in teaching-learning, the didactic game PIQUE-PEGA: MATA ATLANTICA was created for students from the 1st year of high school, which discusses the importance of environmental conservation, involving the Atlantic Forest biome and its endangered species. The recurring themes of Science teaching present in the game are: (i) Atlantic Forest biome; (ii) life maintenance mechanisms; (iii) energy transformations and transfers; (iv) classification of animals according to their diets; (v) extinction; (vi) interspecific competition relationship; (vii) conservation of the environment; and (viii) endemism. It is expected that, with its application, students will approach environmental issues and become more environmentally conscious people, also becoming familiar with the universe of science and scientific language.
