Resumo:
This monograph discusses the relationship between academic satisfaction perceived by university students and their motivation. Academic satisfaction can be influenced by several factors, such as course content, the quality of teaching feedback and students self-efficacy. The self-determination theory highlights that academic satisfaction is directly related to students intrinsic motivation, that is, when they find pleasure and interest in carrying out academic activities. Student motivation can be influenced by teachers, the academic environment and students perception of the academic quality of the institution. It is important that educational institutions consider these factors when planning their policies and practices in order to promote student satisfaction and success
