This research aims to show how Rap has become an important tool in
brazilian suburbs for confronting the social stigmas that plague them. From a
study on the fundamental elements of this musical genre, it is noted that the poetic
prose of these songs have a high aggregating potential. To deepen this analysis,
rapper MV Bill was used as a reference because of his life s work that achieved
national reach. Through Rap´s ability to integrate, it is possible to discuss the
formation of memory in these communities in order to promote the
self-knowledge of its members to confront the social problems that plague them
