Resumo:
This paper aims to analyze the North American aid project to insurgent groups in Afghanistan during the Soviet Invasion. This analysis starts from the origin of Afghanistan and its evolution as a nation until the moment it was subdued by Soviet and North American interventions, forcing the implementation of a sociopolitical organization far from those that were already established in the country. The events of the Soviet Invasion resulted in the United States indirect entrance in the conflict, choosing to support the Afghan insurgent forces. The monograph addresses the way this aid was accomplished and its outcomes in Afghanistan, through the analysis of documents, available in North American governmental digital archives, and with the support from historiographical works.
