This paper analyzed the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the
life insurance market in Brazil from an economic and financial point of view,
being relevant for the dissemination of knowledge about these impacts and
operational changes in insurance companies in the academic area. The
research methodology took place mainly through the analysis of life
insurance and pension companies using their financial reports. The results
found indicate that companies suffered reduction in their operating results
mainly as a result of the large increase in claims and the variantions of
technical provisions for insurance
