|
Law 6,979, dated March 31, 2015, is in force in the State of Rio de Janeiro
as a state fiscal benefit that provides for a Special Tax Treatment of ICMS (Value
Added Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services) applied to industrial
establishments, aiming to reduce regional inequalities. This study aims to assess
its effectiveness by investigating the Municipality of Pinheiral, located in the
Fluminense Middle Paraíba Region. It examines factors such as the growth of
public revenues from 2012 to 2022, municipal economic aspects, the number of
established companies during the period, and formal sector employment. The
case study has an exploratory and descriptive nature.
