Resumo:
The present work seeks to identify the perception of fans in relation to the idea that their football club will become a Public Limited Company. It seeks to identify in what ways this loyalty relationship interferes with the perception and opinion that Rio de Janeiro football club fans have about the changes suffered by clubs that are no longer non-profit associations, to become corporations. football (SAF). A field research was carried out with the application of a structured questionnaire (survey), whose data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, to identify the acceptance of this strategy, considering any changes in the levels of involvement and loyalty on the part of the fans in relation to the their clubs. The sample consisted of 198 respondents and the results point to the positive opinion of most fans regarding the transformation of football clubs into corporations, provided that this transformation does not imply a change in the elements that form the club s identity. There are indications that fans of clubs with better financial conditions are less accepting of the idea of becoming SAF.
