The present work of course completion aims to approach the assembly and to carry out the validation of an experimental bench for metrological investigation of a biphasic flow, air - water, in a horizontal pipe.
The realization of this work is extremely important, since it will be possible to prove and identify the possible flow patterns for different flow rates, so that it can be reproduced in the future in the Oil and Gas industry.
The work was carried out in the Laboratory of Characterization of Fluid Flow Dynamics of the Division of Metrology in Fluid Dynamics of Inmetro (Lacad / Dinam / Inmetro), which has the infrastructure to perform the experiment. Since the identification of the patterns reproduced in the experiment are difficult to accurately notice with the naked eye, it was necessary to use an optical visualization technique known as Shadow Sizer, its operation will be explained later.
