Resumo:
Brazil had a growth in wind power capacity, becoming the leader in the production of this type of energy in Latin America. According to a ranking released by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), International organization specialized in wind energy, there was an expansion of 2,014 Megawatts of wind power in the Country in 2016; when Brazil ranked 5th in the worldwide ranking of installed capacity. Brazil also occupied the world ranking of cumulative capacity of wind generation (10,740 MW) [1]. In this context, Division of Metrology in Fluid Dynamics of the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology of Brazil (Divisão de Metrologia em Dinâmica de Fluidos do Instituto Nacional de Metrologia, Qualidade e Tecnologia Dinam/Inmetro), developed a technical procedure for strengthening the quality infrastructure for wind energy produced in Brazil. The purpose of Dinam/Inmetro is to establish the traceability chain in wind speed in Brazil, aiming the wind power industry. Dinam/Inmetro is part of a project coordinated by German metrology institute the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstal – PTB, with the objective of strengthening the quality infrastructure for renewable energy and energy efficiency in Brazil. The present study studied the development of two procedures, the calibration of laser Doppler anemometers (LDA) by means of Calibration Disc and using LDA in a wind tunnel. In the future, these validated procedures will comprise the Specific Inmetro Standard (Norma Inmetro Específica, NIE) and Technical Inmetro Standard (Norma Inmetro Técnica) to standardize the services of: a) Calibration of Doppler Laser Anemometers by means of Calibration Disc; and b) Calibration of Ultrasonic Anemometers using the LDA with reference.
