The paper studies the importance of economic analysis for
corporate planning. To that effect it focuses in the E&P
sector in Brasil, particularly Shell oil, the most important
international company to come to Brazil after the sector
opening in 1997. The paper aims to analyze its economic
analysis methodology and identify alternatives and
improvement areas.
