Classifying the pore structures in wellbore walls is an important task for building accurate permeability models of reservoirs. Moreover, it still is a labour intensive activity that consumes a reasonable amount of the interpreter s time. This work reproduces and analyzes a proposed method to aid the segmentation of these pore structures in wellbore image logs using morphological path opening filters.
