Resumo:
The high demand involving exploration activity in inhospitable conditions has required new solutions that make projects viable by reducing costs. Regarding installation, it is of interest that the operations are performed in the shortest time possible. The current project aims to develop an algorithm to minimize the number of floats required during the verticalization of a Vertical Connection Module in a Direct Vertical Connection operation. The results presented indicate that the bending stiffness of the structure is the main factor impacting the final configuration, which justifies the use of finite element software in verticalization analyses. With respect to computational time, the developed methodology proved satisfactory. However, in cases where a larger number of floats is required, this becomes an important variable when evaluating the applicability of the tool. Thus, it becomes important and even necessary to use a more efficient optimization method.
