Resumo:
Currently, the use of photovoltaics and wind energy technologies are mainly used during their daytime generation period in Micro and Mini Distributed Generation (MMGD), caused by its challenges to reduce costs and increase efficiency, which in case battery banks are usually implemented for storage. This graduation project focuses on the study of intermittent solar and wind renewable intermittent energy storage, through reverse hydraulic power plants. Through technical, economic, and environmental details, technological solutions and the advantages and disadvantages of harnessing solar and wind energy are analyzed. In addition, possible configurations of hybridization with storage are studied and Brazil s potential for the implementation of this technology are evaluated. Finally, a solar-wind-hydraulic system is designed through numerical modeling and its viability will be evaluated by energetic, exergetic, environmental and economic analyses. Thus, it was demonstrated that however simple the operation of the project, it is necessary a too complex integration configuration between the systems and too high head of the reservoirs for MMGD in Brazil, therefore obtaining low efficiency for the usage of stored energy.
