Resumo:
This work aims to evaluate, based on technical and operational requirements, the transport of liquefied ammonia using the pipelines installed in the Country. This possible solution would be in line with some questions that occur today in Brazil, and that could be minimized, such as: The waste of part of the natural gas produced, due to lack of demand, the idleness of pipelines Brazilians and the external dependence on fertilizers. In this context studied here, part of the natural gas currently wasted could supply the ammonia manufacturing industry, which is the main input for the production of fertilizers. Throughout the work, an overview of the natural gas sector in Brazil and the world will be presented, as fertilizers, as well the potential for using idle pipelines to transport ammonia. The investigation of the possibility of transporting ammonia will be carried out through a study on the compatibility of API 5L steel pipelines, which constitute the oil pipelines in Brazil, for the transport of liquefied ammonia. The study also presents a simulation through an integral analysis of the ammonia ow in a stretch of a known pipeline, for the purpose of process adequacy.
