This research aimed to identify what is the view of Brazilian entrepreneurs about the national scenario to undertake. The study seeks to observe and analyze what it is like to be an entrepreneur in Brazil, what are the biggest challenges, where motivation comes from in the face of so many obstacles,as well as what is the impact of entrepreneurship in the lives of these citizens. The methodology adopted was qualitative, making interviews, using a script of questions. The literature on entrepreneurship has been reviewed, characteristics of the entrepreneur, motivation and the Brazilian conjuncture for the small business owner. The main results of the research suggest that Brazil is still a territory with many obstacles for small entrepreneurs. It was found that many changes, reforms and public policy-making are needed. In relation to motivation, there are very plural factors for each one to continue in this career and some to give up, but these factors can be grouped together because they have similar perspectives.
