This present research aims a study on the role of the HR area in the implementation of Corporate Universities. The objectives are to investigate the UC implementation process in the studied company, the implementation challenges and the performance of the Human Resources area in the implementation of the UC, in the perception of the managers and collaborators involved. As an object of study, the Corporate University of a company in the shopping center industry was investigated, with its main unit in Rio de Janeiro and developments spread across Brazil. The research, of a qualitative nature, had as interviewees some leaders who participate in the development and application of the corporate university, representing the tactical and strategic levels. And as results, the implementation challenges that the company faces in the search for the engagement of its employees and in making its HR strategic, the organizational culture as an important part of the role of UCs and the relevance and need to talk about this topic in organizations.
