The textile industry in Brazil has been greatly affected by
the economic changes, that resulted into the end of
protectionism, the entry of products that competed with the
domestic ones and a competitive rise. Regarding this
context Werner Tecidos S.A. located in Petróplis, state of
Rio de Janeiro - needs to enable the new administrators of
the Company that should maintain the tradition of the
sucesss of the Company and also linking to it new
techniques and modern processes of management. This
research intends to be a small contribution to the
administrative renewall process of Werner Textile,
presenting a summary of the main characteristics of the
textile sector and of the Company, demonstrating the main
critical factors of sucess of its principal unity of
business and suggesting bases to a stuctural analysis of
the industry.
