This study seeks to identify relationships between the personality traits and the choice of financial products of the Rio de Janeiro investor. The research methodology is exploratory and qualitative, a questionnaire was developed through Qualtrics software to collect data on sociodemographic issues, characteristics and emotions and personal finances and investments, in order to draw a behavioral profile that relates to the decisions of investments. From this questionnaire hypotheses were created that personality traits openness to experience, enjoyment and extroversion demonstrate positive affectivity and would be tied to decisions by investment in variable income, and the personality traits neuroticism and conscientiousness present negative affectivity and would relate to the fixed income assets. After analyzing the results, we can conclude that it is not possible to state that the personality trait of the individual will directly influence his choices of financial products.
