The additive manufacturing coupled with topology optimization contributes positively to the development of lightweight structures and innovative design. However, some features of this process, such as the necessity of
support material, may compromise the behaviour of the final structure. In this work, the Topology Optimization Method will be applied to the design of a beam with the objective of obtaining the maximum stiffness for a given volume of material. In addition, the structure will be evaluated numerically using a finite element model through the ANSYS program, incorporating physical and geometric nonlinearities.
