This work suggests a methodology for the manufacturing of a mechanical component, which is part of the rear suspension system of e-Delivery, a light Volkswagen electric truck developed for urban circulation by MAN Latin America, at Resende - Rio de Janeiro. The object of this study is a rear spring bracket made of nodular cast iron and the strategy developed for its manufacturing is based on the combination of different areas of research and technology: recycling, additive manufacturing and investment
casting.
For the accomplishment of this work, one used knowledge gathered in various subjects during graduation in Mechanical Engineering, such as Manufacturing Processes and Engineering Materials, and, also, various
bibliographic references were studied, all of which are indicated along the text. This work was developed in a way it can be adapted to the manufacturing of other mechanical components, aiming accordance with
the concepts of sustainability and a possible future insertion in a context of circular economy.
