The lack of ethics is a threat to society and consequently to the world of business. Such a statement has facilitated the redefinition of the function of companies and has resulted in their undertaking new responsibilities and actions within the community. Currently a companys responsibility to society includes its own management and a range of relationships with employees, customers, suppliers, investors, government, competitors, shareholders, the environment and its wider society. Therefore, for a company to survive it has become essential for it to have social responsibility and a set of ethical policies and procedures. So, that in exercising its power in creating a more socially just world it will gain social credibility creating benefits for itself and all who interact with it.
