Resumo:
This paper is about a marketing research done with customers of Telemar, the biggest telecommunications company in Brazil. It investigates the causes of the low usage of the carrier`s long distance service by clients that own one of their discount plans. These plans have the intent to create client fidelity by offering discount rates and other benefits. However, a lot of clients that had applied for these plans kept their prior usage level. By analyzing the research results, it was proposed a marketing planning, targeting then improvement of client relationship, and finally, the increase the company`s market share.
