The present work aims to analyze how practices of a professional management implemented in a youth academy can influence the results of a soccer club in Brazil. It was considered a broad concept of management that includes administrative theories and activities related to the sport. Through consultations in books, websites and articles, a correlation was made with in-depth interviews conducted with Fluminense FC managers and players. Thus, it was possible to evaluate the current scenario of the club, and what strategies are being adopted to improve the performance of the institution.
