This end-of-course paper details the development of the method for calibrating the national secondary standard for anemometer calibration. The work was developed in the Division of Fluid Dynamics of the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Dinam / Inmetro), where experiments were carried out regarding the calibration of the Laser-Doppler anemometer - LDA (national secondary standard) from calibration disk (national primary standard) with known velocity to simulate a flow. This activity aimed to capture information for the development of the method for calibration of the national secondary standard for the calibration of anemometers.
Within this context, velocity measurements were made in certain control volumes to compare the velocity of the disk with that found by the LDA.
With the captured information it was possible to calculate the measurement uncertainty of this process. Knowing that the calibrated LDA can be used for measurements of fluid flow velocity.
