This study has as main objective to investigate how the process of family succession occurred in a small family business in the automotive sector and its consequences for the business, which went through a significant professionalization process. For this, personal interviews with the participants of the process and others involved were carried out, besides the analysis of company documents that prove the results of the process of succession. The results of this study highlight the importance of succession planning, as well as
the potential to generate results that qualified professionals have when inserted in the organizational environment.
