The Porter Value Chain Model (1985) is a very useful tool for analyzing the value activities of an organization and for creating competitive advantage. Its application in service companies has been little evaluated. The present work evaluated the internal processes of a microenterprise with family management specialized in the lodging of dogs in Itanhangá, Rio de Janeiro. The main objective was to study Stakeholders in a macro view of the market, trends and competition in order to understand the sources of competitive advantage and to review business processes and practices facing the market. It was verified that the microenterprise has problems in the accomplishment of the tasks by the parties involved in the business, mainly due to the low synergy, absence of goals and metrics and the little planning for decision making and in this way suggestions were made for the improvement and restructuring of the activities.
