Resumo: | |||||||||||||
This document contains the whole description of the process of simulating the wireless transmission of electromagnetic signals through the use of simple components, such as dipoles and coils, inserted in simplified models of petroleum extraction environments, specifically pre-salt oil wells. The context for this work s production is based in the existing need for efficient transmission of data collected by sensors coupled to the base of oil extraction tubes. The development of such technology is required in terms of allowing the whole extraction process a higher status of efficiency; allowing, for example, data-driven alterations to strategic planning. Pre-salt layer exploration, in Brazil s economics context, is one of the most valuable activities in the country s development, thus profiling this work as a highly-needed step in terms of social and economic development. It is, thus, natural that derived studies and research start to bloom in the next few years. Projects in real environments require a high level of complexity in planning and development, requiring, though, the use of simulations for risk mitigation; and, clearly, numeric mathematical models containing a huge number of variables, which are responsible for impeaching any trial in obtaining analytical solutions. Simulations for this work were developed using the Finite Elements Method software COMSOL s environment, as a way to establish an initial methodology for development and simulation of projects with of higher magnitude. In conclusion, the obtained results allowed the author to propose a configuration of simple transmitters throughout the extension of oil extraction tubes, such as the use of natural characteristics of the extraction structure s geometry, which, when properly availed and used, can imply in higher transmission efficiency, hence killing two birds with a single stone.
