Resumo:
This work presents a study about the behavior of the soccer fan as a consumer, having as focus of the study, Botafogo fans. Sport with more fans and consumers in Brazil, soccer can arouse the most diverse feelings among people who are involved in the sport, whether they are practicing or just watching. The fan of a specific team is passionate about the institution and everything that is involved with it and this naturally leads them to be consumers of the club. This is no different than the Botafogo fan. The motivation of the present study is to understand the reverse route of this, to understand what are the factors that prevent them from joining the club supporter program. The study had as a reference a qualitative research to reach the desired objectives, which was given through interviews with those fans who, in practice, were really fans of Botafogo, but who were not even club supporter member.
