Chillers are very useful equipment for cooling in general. The main purpose is to cool water so that it can be used in air conditioning, refrigeration of products among other activities. Environmental awareness has warned manufacturers of refrigerant fluids used in the refrigeration process as they may have a direct impact on global warming if a possible leak to the atmosphere occurs. For the support in the present research, we adopted an AHRI-supported program report called Low GWP Alternative Refrigerants Evaluation Program where tests are performed replacing traditional fluids with low GWP fluids in refrigeration equipment using the drop-in concept. The objective of this project is: (i) simulate the fluids used in AHRI report hashtag 1 in the EES software, following the same operating conditions; (ii) analyze and compare experimental and theoretical results; (iii) define the best replacement fluid. In this project it was simulated the substitution of refrigerant R410A by the refrigerant R32 in the operation of an air cooled water chiller.
