This technical report presents the return over investment of a grid-connected photovoltaic system. It is a highly important study due to the need of new alternative energy sources, driven by the exhaustion of conventional sources in use (water, coal, oil, etc.), energy demand and various environmental issues. This work presents the calculation process used to design solar photovoltaic systems connected to the electric grid, as well as the analysis of the return over investment of the installation. In view of a rapidly growing market that strongly contributes to the ecological sustainability of the country, this work analysis the calculation process for designing a residential photovoltaic system in Barra da Tijuca and the return over investment of this project.
