Following the work, the evolution of the beauty segment aimed specifically at the male audience, this work seeks to study the preferences of the carioca consumer in the face of tendency of the current man to give more value and more concern for his appearance and his well-being. The theoretical chapter approaches the themes of consume behavior, marketing mix and the 4ps; the body as a symbol; consumption and beauty and, finally, gender and consumption. In the empirical part, interviews were made with 38 men between the ages of 25 and 60, all residents of the city of Rio de Janeiro who use or intend to use the services offered in salons specially designed for the male audience and also that consume cosmetic products. The goal was to compare your perceptions and ideas about the segment and also about this new reality that we live in today.
