Resumo:
Through a sponsored research project, PUC-Rio developed the Integrated System for the Supply of Electric Energy, which aims to supply electricity to a consumer with defined profile, by the storage of compressed hydrogen obtained by the ethanol reform that will turn into electricity from fuel cells. The system also has storage in batteries and the generation of energy through photovoltaic panels. Hydrogen storage today appears as a possibility for renewables, which have large storage difficulties, much due to the price of batteries commercially. With this, the opportunity to be able to store energy in the form of hydrogen is seen as a possible future for world energy. The project should examine whether the electrolyser is a viable alternative for the ethanol reformer, checking their advantages and disadvantages. In order to reduce consumption and increase production, the electrolyser was seen as a solution because it did not have the relevant heating and cooling time, that is, it produces hydrogen during the time it was connected and, because it had a high output pressure, eliminating the need for the compressor. The simulation of the systems and their graphs were done using Microsoft Excel with the aid of the VBA tool.
