Resumo:
Bi-phases gas-liquid flows are very common in industry applications, especially in the oil and gas industry, chemistry and nuclear. According to the variation of operational conditions, different geometric configurations occur known as flow patterns. In case of production of oil, the pattern found with the highest frequency is the slug, where continuous liquid regions alternate (pistons) and regions of gaseous preponderance (elongated bubbles). Submerged Submarine Centrifugal Pump (SSCP) is one of the methods of oil artificial lift, in wells where the pressure of the oil reservoir isn t sufficient to make the oil arrive at a platform with a desired flow. Basically, a centrifugal pump of multiple stages, turned on by an electrical motor, being in combined this motor-pump, which is installed outside the well. The presence of intermittent movement at the suction pump can cause damage to the pumping systems. Because of that, applying in the multiphase flow, the upstream mixers suction is an interesting strategy. In the present project, it was sought to characterize the functioning of a mixer under different conditions of intermittent flow at the entrance of the device. Level sensors, pressure, and photogates were used for measuring the level of liquid in the mixer, pressure drop and statistical data of the upstream homogenizer slugs. It was also characterized the bi-phase flow (liquid and gas) behavior at this homogenizer s output when submitted to a sudden expansion in its diameter of the horizontal cylindrical pipeline. The objective in this case was to simulate the entrance of submersible centrifugal pump in SKID-SSCP systems. The flow s behavior was observed through image acquisitions. The results are compared with a prototype with the field scale close dimensions. A good compliance is noticed.
