Brazil is currently living in a time of change in consumer behavior and Pay-TV, by default, is gaining some recognition. The rise of consumer classes has facilitated a new segment in the population to have access to more goods and services. Rocinha, the largest slum in Rio de Janeiro, currently possesses a large number of consumers who are signing up for television cable services. Whether it is in the informal way using a Gatonet, or through the official cable companies such as SKY, Claro TV, and Oi, people now have access to television contents. The quality of the service is seen differently across consumers with accessible prices and the number of channels provided. An interview was conducted with locals from Rocinha to understand their perception on the subject matter.
