The issue of this research work is the analysis and
revision of the management information system of the
Development Office of the Technical and Scientific Centre
of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro
(PUC-Rio).
Based on the practical experience of the author, it was
described, in detail, the evolution and the actual stage of
the management information system used by the Control
Unit of the referred Office, in order to control the
research projects made for the interaction between the
university and enterprises.
After the detailed description of the system, some
vulnerabilities appeared, and the proposals for the system
changes were collected during some visits to other units
connected to PUC-Rio and sites of some enterprises
specialized in systems development.
