The main purpose of this study was to identify the investment profile of a group of young people from Rio de Janeiro, observing their financial knowledge, how they invest and their risk propensity in relation to fixed income investments. Furthermore, after identification of the major investment that this public concentrates its financial investments, 3 proposed portfolios have been elaborated as a way of comparison and suggestion for greater returns. The data collection was done through a field survey conducted with 60 young people between April and May 2017. The research results showed that the public in question has a good financial knowledge, but there is a gap in the applicability of concepts in real life, since the option of their investments is one of the least profitable in the market, evidenced with the portfolios devised in this study.
