|
In this report you will find a brief analysis of the
Construction Industry and its relevance in the Brazilian
economy. we focus on the Real Estate sector mentioning the
instruments that fund this market. One of these instruments
is the Real Estate Investment Fund (Fundo de Investimento
Imobiliário - FII), which was introduced in in 1993, based
on the American model - Real Estate Investment Trusts
(REITs). Concerning to the Real Estate Funds, we start
explaining what they are and describing the REITs. Further
we analyze the FIIs: legal framework and regulations, other
important aspects, advantages,considerations when investing
in FIIs, structure, the Brazilian experience, current
landscape and perspectives, FIIs market and conclusion.
As the success story in the USA, I am sure that this
product really has a great potential in Brazil.
