In the 2017 scenario of economic crisis, in a country that has about half of its population in the lower-middle class, the importance of carefully managing personal finances increases, in order to avoid indebtedness. This study aims to observe the main aspects of financial behavior of the lower-middle class that might lead to it s indebtedness. This work includes a quantitative survey done with 106 people from the State of Rio de Janeiro and an analysis of the following aspects of financial behavior: personal finances management, credit use, investment and savings, and planned purchases. A possible solution to lead to a responsible financial behavior would be to include financial education in the scholar table time.
