According to Globo Rural Magazine, Brazil is the fourth country in the world in production of coconut and, considering only the coconut water, Brazil is in the leadership, reaching around BRL 450 million per year. Pernambuco State is the sixth national coconut water producer, and Rio de Janeiro is one of the most expressive consumers. Within the present scenario, the purpose of this study is to determine the most efficient and inexpensive way to transport bottled coconut water without preservatives from Petrolina (PE) to Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
