Resumo:
This study aims to investigate the middle Class consumer s for the selection of gym for a fitness process. The number of academies in Brazil grows mainly in the studied class. The analyses of results were obtained through a sample of gym users in the city of Rio de Janeiro and were measured by a qualitative and quantitative survey. It was confirmed that the users choose their health club by friends’ indications and by what they see when they pass by it. It was proved that users prioritize proximity to places they usually go; ratings between BRL 80,00 and BRL 140,00 and full-time open. The main reasons were: aesthetic and relieving stress.
