Resumo:
The study aims to investigate the main factors that motivate consumers to buy falsified products. The study data were obtained by conducting in-depth interviews with fifteen (15) consumers of falsified products residents of the state of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. A semi-structured script with open questions guided the in-depth interviews. Based on the study, was possible to identify the high price charged by the original products and the uncharacteristic of these as first needed items, as key drivers for the acquisition of non-genuine objects.
