Resumo:
Motorcycles and bicycles have several pieces in rotational movement, therefore having angular momentum. In turn, due to the dynamics of motorcycles and bicycles, the variation in this angular momentum is going to cause a precession (gyroscopic effect), which is a reaction torque to the variation of the angular momentum. The perfect understanding of this effect is essential for the dynamic control of the motorcycle / bicycle. Therefore this study aims to discuss the feasibility of building apparatus for measuring the gyroscopic effect on motorcycles and real bikes for future use in the Control Development Laboratory (LDC) of PUC-Rio.
