This work aims to investigate the use of makeup by brown and black skinned woman in the Brazilian market. To achieve this goal an exploratory research was conducted through a qualitative approach which type was an in-depth interview. Through ten makeup consumers of brown and dark skin, with different ages and economy class, we sought to achieve the study s main focus. The results showed that these consumers often buy and use makeup; however, they are not satisfied with the options available. Although they have their own foundation and lipsticks chart, for example, they still have troubles when seeking new products and feel uncomfortable with the unnatural effect of this foundations on their faces. This research is relevant to deepen the consumer habits of the brown and black skin women regarding makeup and contribute to the recognition of this market leading content to companies wishing to better understand this opportunity.
