This work aims to identify the main motivations and influences that lead to women nowadays play a sport fighting, and seek to understand the issue of self-image of these women. For this, was used as the basis of a field study research through face to face interviews with women who practice the sport for recreation and professionally, and focus groups with women and men who do fight just for pleasure. Thus, it was possible to identify what leads woman to go into a fight class, how they feel being women and practicing a sport considered masculine and propose changes to the classes according to needs and desire of practitioners fight.
