Resumo:
In a market with steady economic growth, we have seen an increase in turnover rates within organizations. Contrary to what many people speculate, the salary is not one of the main factors that motivate an employee to leave the organization. The lack of incentives, the organization s policies, lack of recognition, the work environment and relationships with coworkers are some of the factors which may affect the employee s relationship with the company, reducing their organizational commitment. The goal of this study is to identify and analyze the factors that determine the permanence of employees in a private university in Rio de Janeiro, PUC-RIO.
