Resumo:
Image Management is one of the fast growing areas in Brazil and it has been attracting the interest in the sports market. This area, almost exclusive to football players and their managers in the past, is now in the spotlight of the sports world. This study aims to investigate the reasons why companies invest in different athletes as well as to appoint these athletes main characteristics that will draw such companies attention towards them and this kind of Marketing Strategy. In addition, it seeks to identify the main gains expected by companies and the brand managers to invest in athletes sponsorship.
