This work analyzed the Brazilian reinsurance market considering all the features of the industry structure and the macro environmental that influences the market for new reinsurers. It was considered the Brazilian laws, the reinsurance operation, the players of the market and how the foreign reinsurers see the Brazilian market. It was done a study with secondary data in publications about the topic and after that a qualitative research was carried through an interview with five experienced professionals of the reinsurance market where data were collected and were later analyzed to base the Brazilian reinsurance market analysis. Then the conclusion that this is not the moment to reinsurers becomes a local reinsurer in Brazil.
